#5 Obesity

So this is my for real first ever blog in my life.  Does facebook count as a blog?  I'm not sure.  We finally have our service learning contracts finished with the members of my group.  I am looking forward to get some work done there.  As for the "What?" portion of today is last weeks discussion and movie about obesity and how complicated an issue it is. 

This will apply to me greatly as a nurse and the potential situations i may come in contact with.  I had very mixed feelings about the movie and the whole issue.  It seems that the American way of fixing something instantly just won't work with obesity.  There are so many factors to address.  I hope i can really look at the obesity problem and learn how to help.

I have competed in a couple amature bodybuilding competitions so my view of the body can be a little skewed.  But at the same time I have had the extreme discipline and desire to know how to eat to accomplish a goal.  Just some thoughts.
